I cannot believe how long it's been since I last posted. It really bums me out how life suddenly gets thrown a curve ball, and you find yourself spinning in circles trying to swipe at the damn thing but all you're hitting is fresh air.
The working world has suddenly transformed me into a hermit. I miss the click of my camera and the freedom of Europe so much. I miss being able to arrive at the train station, scan a time table, and then head off in an entirely new direction for the day. Italy and all of it's adventures have been laid to rest for the time being, and for the moment I find myself having to maximise my weekends, simply because the weeks offer no opportunity to explore or get lost by any means.
This past weekend a bunch of us took a little drive up into Jonkershoek just outside of Stellenbosch. Here you will find the fine institution that is Stark-Conde Wines. What a hidden little gem. The tasting is conducted out in the middle of the pond that sits in front of the winery. Although I didn't take too many photos of the venue itself (I was a little hungover from the night before), the place is well worth a visit, if not for the view, then for their outstanding Pinot Noir which they produce. It's gorgeous. Soft, delicate. It's a cracker to say the least...
